Taking coastal roads through Adriatic fishing ports, you then venture inland past olive groves, vineyards and grazing sheep. Here we will enjoy country cuisine: abundant seafood, fresh vegetables, homemade pasta and outstanding bread. Romanesque churches and charming Trulli, the houses of whitewashed stone and unique conical roofs can also be seen along the way. All of this in one week on two wheels.
Meet at Bari station at 14.00 and transfer to Relais il Melograno in the countryside of the coastal town Monopoli, with a beautiful Aragonese castle.
Check into your rooms at our hotel in the countryside. Meet your guides during a bike-fitting session. Depending on the time schedule there will be a test bike ride of 32 km/20 miles to explore spectacular Polignano a Mare, a postcard perfect whitewashed village overlooking the Adriatic narrow winding streets. Here you will marvel at the inredible views of the bright blue sea.
Welcome dinner at your Masseria
Distance: 50 km / 31 mi
From Monopoli, pedal through groves of olive trees to follow rolling country roads lined with ancient stone walls through the fertile Valle d’Itria. Our goal is Alberobello, a world heritage site and known for nearly conical shaped white Trulli dating back to the 13th century. These particular houses are painted with strange symbols on their roofs and framed by rich green farmland. Once at Alberobello, a local guide, Mimmo, will welcome you introducing the Trulli world. After this you will be free to wander in this magical town. Then it’s back to your charming Masseria for pool-side aperitif followed by another gourmet dinner in town.
Today we move to Ostuni. The ride from Melograno is amazing; you reach the coastal panoramic road and you will skirt the seaside until the last uphill to Ostuni. On the coast pass Torre Egnazia, Savelletri, and Torre Canne.
Ostuni is a charming hamlet with whitewashed arches and houses neatly piled like sugar cubes and beautiful examples of Baroque and renaissance architecture.
Loop ride to Martina Franca, distance: 62 km/38,5 miles

Back in the saddle and after 10 km we arrive at Frantoio d’amico where we have the olive oil tasting and lunch. There is also a museum where you may learn about the region’s most abundant product. Dinner is at Taverna della gelosia.
