Unique and fun way to learn Italian in the Kitchen and also true Farm to Table Experiences at Brightside, the Diack’s family farm situated in the Magaliesburg, where chef James Diack grew up. Janet, his mother is passionate about farming and supplying fresh produce to both James’ restaurants and deli. Almost 95% of their ingredients – pork, chicken, herbs, vegetables, fruit and even some of the cheeses as well as Diack’s now legendary acorn-fed wild boar, lamb, duck and the occasional pigeon or guinea fowl is supplied by the farm – what they cannot grow themselves they source from suppliers who share the same passion for provenance.
The beautiful gardens are functional, flowers abound are all edible. Apart from the large main gardens, you will find smaller gardens, situated to provide the right conditions for speciality plants. All gardens feature benches, tone patch, ponds and sculptures with rambling plants like peas, beans and tomatoes climbing up woven willow structures.
